Monthly Overview

Lilith, Whore of Babylon, or Beacon of sovereignty?

Lilith – Whore of Babylon or Beacon of Sovereignty?

Here at Dark Goddesses Collective, we believe everything is divine timing. Sometimes, a Goddess seeks to be featured in a given month and we just roll with it. The reasons become clear as the months move along. We set our monthly Goddess/theme in December and, while some months don’t go to plan, others do. Which brings us to July and what June wrought upon us.

Chaos. Women’s reproductive rights and body sovereignty is being decimated over here in the states. You may be feeling rage, hopelessness, fear and each of those is incredibly valid. Feel them in their entirety, then stand up and use them to fight back. This month, we are going to stand boldly in our sovereignty and all that entails.

They will tell you such nonsense as, “Lilith is a demon. Lilith is the mother of demons. Lilith defied Adam.” She may be and she may have, but does it matter? What she really was, was the first to refuse to upset the natural order of things. She was sovereign. Her refusal to bow to the patriarchy is what we all must draw upon. They have taken her story, they have defiled it and WE are taking it back.

Lilith was originally from Sumeria. Like many of the Goddesses we have or will touch upon. She is the Rebel, a Seductress, a Goddess of Sacred Sex, she is our wild feminine and brings the wind and storms. Do you see a common theme here? Of Serpents & Storms being the parents company of DGC and RAW is no accident.

So what will this month bring you, the Wild Women and Witches? Are you ready to take back control of your own life, your own pleasure, and your own sexuality? That’s what we’re doing. Are you ready to fight for your sovereignty in a world that wishes to relegate you back to being submissive? We’ve got you covered.

Medusa II: She has more to say…

Last month in Dark Goddesses Collective we began to connect to Medusa. It was clear early on that she had so much to say, reveal, and show us. While we love to show ways to connect with the faces of the Goddess, we can not rush the message. Whether it was Mercury retrograde or simply that she had more interesting things to share with us, we were not going to wrap up May with an Anthology when she was clearly not finished speaking.

The Month of June 2022

Our Theme: Energy in Motion

This month we are looking at energy in motion with an emphasis on experiencing it and effective channeling.

Our Goddess: Medusa

We are still connecting and learning from this Gorgon Goddess and her origins. She wants to show us a deeper magic and how to put these skills to use in our lives. There is so much knowledge she is willing to share but refuses to be limited by something like our idea of ‘time’. Buckle up Witches!

Some of what we have planned:

  • The Poppet
  • The Gorgon Shield Divination
  • Energy in Motion: Effective Channeling Ritual
  • A Spitfire Corner
  • An update on our Private Network

As the month progresses, other work may present itself. If you need to make another Black Sacred Candle, all of the information can be found here.

Please share your stories with us of working with Medusa. Your understanding of her. Anything that feels like it is helping you to stand stronger in your own sovereignty. We are a community and growing together is incredibly important. Your experience may be the missing piece of another’s journey. Or may inspire them to look at things a different way.

Goddess Medusa Overview for May

For the month of May, here at DGC, we’re diving DEEP with the Gorgon Queen herself, Medusa. She was one of 3 Gorgon sisters and a Priestess of Athena. Until Poseidon decided to violate her sovereignty of self and she was “punished” for his transgressions. I, however, don’t believe that to be entirely true. The patriarchy’s narrative is so insidious in the myths of strong, powerful women. Getting to the truth of the matter can be incredibly tricky. I have spent years attempting to unravel the lies we’ve been told.

Many accept, at face value, that Medusa is Greek. The depiction of her, at the Temple of Hadrian in Syria, says otherwise. Syria was a vital part of the Silk Road. Which means stories were able to travel long distances from their places of origin. We, as modern day practitioners, have to follow clues to discover what’s accurate. Listening to the Goddesses (for me she IS a Goddess) as they tell their stories, brings us closer to what has been obscured by smoke, mirrors, and blatant lies.

What we’re doing this month

Our Monthly Black Sacred Candle
Herbal Blend
Medusa Poppet
Charged Dark Moon Eclipse Cleansing Water
The Demon’s Eye Article

If time allows

Ivy’s Spitfire Corner Episode 2
Anything else Medusa may bring forth. She’s been rather chatty.

We have discovered she enjoys the following songs
O Dark Mother by Abbi Spinner McBride
Bone by Bone by Marya Stark

Please share your stories with us of working with Medusa. Your understanding of her. Anything that feels like it is helping you to stand stronger in your own sovereignty. We are a community and growing together is incredibly important. Your experience may be the missing piece of another’s journey. Or may inspire them to look at things a different way.

Eris: A look Ahead

Eris: The Greek Goddess of Strife and Discord

For March, we’re going to face some of our own shadow and root out the areas or our life where chaos rules supreme. To live a more balanced life, we have to face the areas of our lives that keep harmony from allowing us to just be at one with it all.

Eris is a daughter of the Night Goddess, Nyx. While she is a Goddess of War, the biggest war we fight is often within ourselves. We can go around it, but until you walk through it, you will never find the peace that comes afterwards. She is going to challenge you. This is the way that we grow into the beautiful souls we’re meant to be!

Theme: The Storms We Face

Throughout our lives, we all face the storms of hardship and self-doubt. With the help of Eris, we can discover the tools to weather those storms.

Our Goddess: Eris

The Greek Patron Saint of Discordia is one of the daughters of Nyx. Much like her mother, she has deep, deep wisdom but you must face the darkness within.

Embracing Aletheia

After rising from Cerridwen’s Cauldron, we are embracing the Goddess Aletheia in February 2022. This Greek Goddess allows us to embrace her energy in our revealing and disclosure of truth, sincerity, and authenticity through discernment. While challenging in some aspects, Aletheia is not truth itself. She is the liminal Goddess that guides the path between our ability to comprehend that which is being disclosed and how we can use it in our quest of a life full of magic, passion, and purpose.

The Month of February

Theme: Veritas

Veritas is considered the Roman equivalent of Aletheia. Here we specifically seek to comprehend the changes taking place in society and the way that Veritas is being used in a social context.

Our Goddess: Aletheia

Aletheia, a daughter of Zeus or possibly Prometheus, is a Goddess of disclosure. She reveals to us that which we must know on our path and our ability to discern the way forward authentically.

Entering Cerridwen’s Cauldron

As we welcome 2022 at Dark Goddesses Collective, we have been calling to Cerridwen. Ivy and I noticed that welcoming her elicits a strong wind in our areas of the world. She let us know immediately that she arrived and brought with her drastic change! Cerridwen requires an acceptance of what must come now for each of us that leads to what comes next. This spiral cycle of renewal and rebirth is welcomed here, so now we prepare to enter Cerridwen’s Cauldron!

The Month of January

Theme: Renewing Our Inner Flame

January is full of looking ahead for so many of us! It is known for planning, for action taking, for our productivity, and building our next steps. What if we took a moment to bathe fully in our own intuitive knowing? What if we chose connecting deeply with self and allowing self to speak first? What could this look like?

Our Goddess: Cerridwen

Cerridwen, Keeper of the Cauldron of Rebirth, is a Chthonic and shapeshifting Goddess from the Celtic/Welsh regions. She has arrived in Dark Goddesses Collective to allow us entry into her Cauldron, full of inspiration, regeneration, and the deepest knowing that she can bestow upon us this month.

December Witchery

Inward with December

As we go deeper into the darkness of winter, we recognize the silence of the frozen landscape. We know the journey inward is well underway. The time for our own inner reflections, potent self-discovery, and full heartedness is upon us as well. Sink deeply in with us here at Dark Goddesses Collective as we dive into the Winter Goddess Berchta.

The Month of December

Our Theme: The Full-Hearted Witch

This month we are sinking in to traditions of selfcare. 12 Days of it!

Our Goddess: Berchta

Berchta is a Winter Goddess with many threads (and names!) throughout Germany, Austria, and the region of the Alps. She is over the Hearth and Home, Women, Children, the fields, and the animals. The journey between maiden and crone, across her threads and domains, can allow us to peer into our own preparations for 2022.

Nyx

Nyx and November

As the northern hemisphere continues to lengthen its time in darkness, in nighttime, we look to welcome Nyx at Dark Goddesses Collective for November.

Here at Dark Goddesses Collective, part of our work is the reclamation of the Goddesses in all forms. To speak their stories and our own, recognizing a growing power through which we can all foster change in our lives and communities. We are excited that you have found us!

November Darkness

We are equally excited to announce that our private network is coming along beautifully. Its creation will be for those who are interested in doing the deeper, life-changing, intuitive work of reclaiming their power with Dark Goddesses and a tribe committed to fostering change in their communities.

The Month of November

Our Theme: Coming Home to Witchcraft and Dark Goddesses

This month we are discussing the ways witchcraft feels like a homecoming, how the threads of the Dark Goddesses find us in our witchery, and how it presents itself as a mirror into our soul.

Our Goddess: Nyx

A primordial Goddess of Night and darkness, from the darkness where all of creation is formed and returned to. Connecting with Nyx is to connect deeply within our subconscious where our own divinity may lay in wait, our own spark of creation, beyond “other” and beyond the “dark night of the soul”.

Nyx's stars

Some of what we have planned:

  • Rituals to see in the dark
  • A Potion
  • A Talisman
  • Using the Sacred Black Candle in the month of November
  • Meditation(s) and/or channeled messages via audio
  • An article on Nyx, herstory, the areas she resides over, ways to connect with her to empower our own self-sovereignty and divination.

October at Dark Goddesses Collective

Here at Dark Goddesses Collective, part of the work we do is to re-claim the Goddesses of power. To speak their stories through our own eyes, meditations and workings. As well as through the eyes of scholars that have cast off the patriarchal slant placed upon them.
Remember, it is power WITH, not power over.

For the month of October, we have some deeply meaningful work and wisdom to share with all of you

Our theme for the month is: The Dead Speak. – Wisdom and practices all about honoring and connecting with our ancestors. Ancestors of both our lineage and those chain breakers who have gone before us.

Our Goddess of the month is: Hel – She is both Goddess and place. She receives half of the dead in Hel, which is in Niflheim. She was cast there by Odin and given authority over 9 worlds. It is Hel who is said to have gifted Huginn and Muninn to Odin.

Some of what we have planned:
A Ritual of Releasing – Using a poppet filled with all the things you wish to walk away from to be born anew, a firepit, and a call to Hel to welcome her into the space of Dark Goddesses Collective. This will be video recorded on the evening of October 1st and will be placed here on the blog as soon as it is uploaded to Youtube.

An incense blend for the month to honor our Mighty Dead as the veil thins.

Using the Sacred Black Candle in the month of October – Mini workshop article.

Meditation(s) and/or channeled messages via audio.

The Dead Speak Divination method.

An article on Hel, herself, her history, the areas she resides over, ways to connect with her to heal the shadow self.

Setting up Chthonic altars to our mighty dead, with different examples.

Honoring our dead and the spirit of land. Protocols for visiting graveyards, connecting with our ancestors, collecting earth for our work in the year ahead, and offerings to the land as payment.
